After a few years, the game was played and loved by women as well as guys, farmers, glazers, and merchants along with courtesans and aristocrats. There has been no usual number of cards or models in a deck at that time. The amount of cards might vary from 36 to 40 or perhaps 52. The suits of the time were pictorial of wealth, delicious rations, military security, and sports popular with the court. These were chips, cups, sabers, and clubs. Symbols familiar to us were used in France in the 15th century: in red, Couers (Hearts) stood for the cathedral, carreaux (a rectangular floor tile) symbolized the business class; in black, there were piques (stab and arrow heads) exhibiting  authority, and trifles (trefoil clover leaf) as a sign of the farmers. In case of straights, 2 consecutive cards equal 2 points. Two cards missing one position equal 2points. Two cards missing two position equal 1 point. Three card and four card bonus is 2 points. There are a few pairs which shouldn't be considered like the A-2, A-3 and A-4. There are a few exceptions, like J-10 equivalent to 10 points and 4-2 is 2 points.

The unpaired cards are given bonus such as, A-10 is 1 point and 9-7 is 0.5 point each. Bonus is always given based on the position. Last card is 2 points and second last is a single point.
